12/25/08: Christmas 2008. What a crazy month. Christmas this year was bitter sweet for sure. The craziness of packing and getting ready to move and Justin's birthday and getting ready for Christmas was very stressful. There was definitely alot going on this month. And I am sad to say that it really didn't feel like Christmas to me. We drastically cut back on the Christmas gifts this year. The move is costing way more then we anticipated, and things are adding up so fast. The kids were very understanding about it. But I must say that they were not lacking in the present department anyway. They got so many gifts for so many other people plus Santa. So it was just fine. We spent Christmas Eve over at Jason's sisters house with his family. Had some great food and hung out with all the kids. Christmas morning, the kids got up around 7:10 and the party began. The first things they saw were the gifts from Santa, Justin got a scooter and Lauren got a Princess Kitchen. And Aunt Bonnie got Justin two awesome sweatshirts and Lauren got a scarf, hat, purse with jewelry, and bracelets. Then we opened other random gifts from us. Then Grandma Nancy and Papa and Uncle Bob came over. And of course they had a ton of gits too. Luggage, a scooter for Lauren, and guitar for Justin, and Barbie and the Diamond castle for Lauren. Uncle Bob got the kids movies. We hung out for a while and had a few of my HOMEMADE from SCRATCH cinnamon rolls...yummy!!!! Then mommy went and tried to take a short nap, but of course that didn't happen.
Then we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Flud's house. Which I forgot to bring in my camera so I have no pictures from there, but I will be stealing some from Deanna. But the WHOLE Flud gang was there. We had a great dinner and opened a ton of presents there too. My grandpa Comuzano was there. It it always nice to see him. We were able to take a big family photo. Which was nice, because this will be the last Christmas in my parents house. The house we all grew up in. It is for sale and I am sure we be sold before next Christmas. So it was definitely bitter sweet. But we look forward to the next Christmas in my parents new dream house in Idaho. I am sure the whole family will be there too and we will just start creating new family memories there.
So now it is all over......Thank goodness, I am exhausted. I need a nap. Plus if I sit here and eat another cinnamon roll or cheese Zombie I am going to explode!!!!!
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas, and now we look forward to the New Year......and then the BIG MOVE!!!!!!
