My computer crashed!!!

7/14/08: So last weekend my computer crashed. My hard drive was shot. I actually had to hire some computer geeks to come out and look at it to make sure that is what happened. They took it back to their lab and as it turned out they were unable to retrieve ANYTHING. I was so angry. Angry with Jason and angry with myself. We bought an external hard drive a few months back and fortunately backed up all of our pictures. But we didn't back anything else up. Which was stupid. So I lost everything. All my saved documents and my whole email, address book, and saved emails. And lost all my Instant Messenger contacts too. And Jason had about 2000 hours of music that we lost too. So I guess you could say that we learned a valuable lesson.

So I was with out my computer and Internet access for about 4 days. That was so hard. I did not realize how dependent I had become on it. And the thought of it always there. And when I lost everything, I realized that maybe writing a few things down is so much a waste of time anymore. Or I guess also I should just back EVERYTHING up on our external hard drive. So a few hundred dollars and 4 days later, I am back and running. But I have had to rebuild everything. I think trying to re cope my email address book is going to be the hardest. There are already people that I need to email I don't have the address. Which sucks, but what do you do. So I guess this was a lesson learned.
