06/10/10: Today Justin and I went on his Scout activity. We all went on a bike ride on the green belt. It is a trail that runs along side the Boise River for miles and miles.
The weather was a little windy and the sun came and went, but no rain. We lucked out. Justin had a ball, as usual. We rode 5 miles. We rode to the Ann Frank memorial. That was an amazing thing to see. I didn't even know it was there. Justin has not learned about the Holocaust in school yet. Jason has told him a little bit about it, but not too much. He was still pretty amazed at it though. Then we stopped at the Fire Fighters memorial too. That was pretty cool also. It is right behind the back side of the Boise fire departments training facility.
Then we ended up at Julia Davis park which is a HUGE park in Boise. It is right across from the Zoo and BSU. We had lunch there in the park and rested for a bit. Then we were on our way back to the starting point. The ride was so pretty and so enjoyable. I know this is something that we will do again and again as a family for sure, and possibly with company. There were several tunnels we went through and bridges we went over and under. The kids really loved it. The river was flowing at capacity due to all the rain. All the trees and grassy areas, it was just so nice. We can't wait to take Jason and Lauren on this bike ride. They will love it!!!
