Thanksgiving 2009

11/26/09: Thanksgiving Day

This year was a little different for us. Half my family was not there, which was odd. We have all been together every year for as long as I can remember. So this year, the Gatchell's were in CA, and Deanna & Christian were in Panama. And Caryn had to work. Her kids were here, but she was at work. And then Jason's family were all in CA also. I have to say though, it was very mellow missing all those peeps, but not worth it!!!

So we made do. We cooked a great meal. Jason BBQ's a turkey and then my parents roasted one too. We wanted to have plenty of left overs. Since that is the BEST part of the meal. We had some great desserts too. Yummy!!!

The kids all had so much fun playing together. They ran all over the place. Bryan was riding his dirt bike in the back yard, the girls were playing dress ups in the house, Justin & Waylon were inseparable. Waylon is Justin's little shadow for sure.

Then Johnny & Jason built a fire in the fire pit in my parents backyard, It was so nice to sit outside and be warm still. Different for a Thanksgiving day, but a fun new thing to do. We are in Idaho you know!!! Grannie stayed in the house all day. She did pretty good considering there was so much noise with all the kids running around. Mom came in and out and even sat by the fire for a long time. And it was still cold outside.

We all had a great time. We looked at all the sale paper ads for Black Friday, all of us "thinking" about going, but knowing it was NOT going to happen. Hee hee!!!

So until next year, and now onto CHRISTMAS!!!!! ( I already started decorating my house)
