Lauren gets a NEW cast

9/08/08: Lauren went in for her 4 week check up. She got her cast off and then we went and had a new x ray taken. Then back to the Dr.'s office to decide if she was completely healed. And of course, she was not quite ready. However, she was able to get a half cast. This new one is only to her knee. So it will be easier for her to walk. They even gave her a cute little walking shoe for it. And she got to pick purple this time. Which is her second favorite color, next to pink of course.

She was so brave and did so well. We were very proud of here. She didn't cry at all, even when they removed the old cast with the cast saw. I thought for sure that would have scared her. But she was a champ. And she had daddy there with her the whole time. She was excited to see the new purple one. That made her smile.

After all the excitement of her appt, she was really sleeping. We went to Grandma's house and it did not take long for her to fall asleep on Grandma's lap. Grandma fell asleep herself.

We are a little bummed because we have two trips planned for this weekend and next weekend. And her cast is going to make that not as much fun for her. We are going to one of Justin's races in Reedley this weekend. And then next Thursday through Sunday we are going camping again to Gualala River Redwood park up north with Uncle Johnny and Kely, and Waylon. Oh well, I guess we will make due.
