4/19/09: Yesterday we went to Shoshone Falls. It is located in Twin Falls. It was the perfect day for it. IT was about 72 degrees there. And not a bad drive either. The kids had fun and thought it was pretty cool. Lauren commented on how loud it was. The falls are about 212 ft tall, that is taller then Niagara falls which is about 173 ft tall. It was the perfect time to go too, because the lake was at full capacity which means they were letting out the maximum amount of water to the falls. It was really very beautiful. There was a ton of people there too. I am sure due to the fact that it was the first really nice weekend here and the falls are at capacity. There is a really nice big park there too. Great for bringing a picnic and hanging out for a while.
Also on the way there we stopped at this place called Malad Gorge. It is this huge gorge out in the middle of no where. We didn't even know it was there. We were just driving to Twin Falls and I looked over to the side of the road and saw people walking on this bridge next to the freeway. But when we got closer we saw the HUGE gorge and stopped at the exit and was able to go check it out. The part of the water fall was called The Devils Wash Bowl. It was pretty cool. And so beautiful. This is one thing that I have noticed about Idaho, there are so many beautiful places, and the mountains and all the gorges. There are so many of them. I hope we get to see them all.
