Bogus Basin

1/18/09: Today we went to Bogus Basin. It is a ski resort here in Boise. It is about a 20 minute drive from us. How cool is that. The weather was beautiful. The sun was shinny bright as can be. We even got so warm we had to take off our jackets. It was so nice. So the first time we went down Lauren was super excited. But then while we were flying down the hill, she was not liking it. Plus it would spray a fine mist of snow on your face and she did not like that either. So needless to say, Lauren's first time was her last time. We could not get here to go again. So Jason and I had to take turns going down with Justin and hanging back with Lauren. But it worked out because we were able to take all these great pictures.
So there is this big sledding hill. And it is bigger then it looks. And you go way faster then you would think. Then when you get to the bottom there is a pulling system that hooks your tube tether and then pulls you back up the hill. Like a free ride. So that makes it easier, because if I had to hoof it back up that hill to go again, I can assure you that I would have only went once.
Jason and Justin went several times. Justin LOVED it. But then again he is the adrenalin junkie of the family. He had so much fun. We bought tickets for only 2 hours, and he wanted to stay more. And he thought that his Papa Ron would love this for sure. So maybe we they come to visit we will have to take them there.
We are having an Inversion here in Boise. An Inversion is when the warm air above traps all the cold foggy air in the valley. And since Boise is in a valley which is called the Treasure Valley. So we have been covered in a foggy haze for about 10 days. But we are expecting it to clear up soon, then bring in another storm with some fresh snow. We can't wait for that. There are some pictures of the mountains and the valley and then on the way back down the mountain we took some pictures of the snow covered trees. And the fog and gloominess. Is that even a word??? :o)
Then we went and had lunch and Grains of Montana, which is a yummy cafe place similar to Panera Bread. But they have pizza too. We had a great day as a family. And can't wait for all of our visitors to come visit so we can entertain them!!!!!!!

WOW that looks freaking AWESOME!!! I lvoe the pictures. I love love the idea of the pully system. The one we went to in Tahoe you have to walk back up, man that gets old super quick. It really looks totally fun. I am glad you all had a great time. I am glad you are settling into the life in ID. I sure hope we will be able to join you all. Love you Mare
