8/31/09: So we decided to go camping at the last minute on Friday. We went up to Cascade Lake. It is about an hour away. Another great thing about here, is that any where you want to go is so close and easy to do. The weather was a little over cast, but still warm. Then we got hit with some thunder & lightning storms, which was pretty cool. We sat under the RV awning and watched the lightning, it was so pretty. The mountains were lighting up. Well that is what it looked like anyway. And it rained just a little bit, which was cool too, I love the sound of rain on the roof of the RV.
We had a great time. The kids and Jason fished most the day. They were catching so many fish. They would cast the line out and before they would sit down the fish would bite. The fish were pretty small since we were fishing off the shore. Next time we need a boat so we can go out deeper and catch the big fish. The water was pretty warm, not too cold. The kids didn't really care if it was cold, they just wanted to swim. And build sand castles.
We played crochet, and BBQ each night. Had a camp fire and roasted marshmallows. It was funny, the next morning we noticed that the RV door handle and the bathroom door handle were all sticky!!!!! Nice!!!!
We had a fun time, it was great to get away one last time before Justin starts school Monday. Which he is super excited about too. You will see those pictures tomorrow night.
Can't wait for our next outing, we are finding that going last minute is more fun. Not planning makes it more spontaneous. Which is fun for the kids too.
Here is a video of fishing.....make sure you pause the music at the bottom first!!!
